Who we are
asfouri (asfouri.agency, “the Service”) is a brand of Phoenicurus Ochruros Unipessoal LDA, a company registered in Portugal under NIPC 517 777 339, with its registered office at Rua Prof. Joaquim Bastos, n.º 31, 2.º A, 4200-604 Porto, Portugal. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at hello@asfouri.media.
We respect your privacy and process your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and Portuguese Law 58/2019.
What we collect
- Details you submit to get matched: your organisation name, website, country, organisation type, company size, stage, funding sought, sector(s), a description of what you do and your optional project idea.
- Contact data: your name and email address, when you ask us to email your results or when you buy a report.
- Payment data: processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and billing metadata, but we never see or store your full card number.
- Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) needed to run and secure the site.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To provide the Service — matching you to funding, generating and delivering your report — is necessary to perform our contract with you or take steps at your request (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To send your results and relevant funding or service updates is based on your consent, or on our legitimate interest in helping organisations we have engaged with find funding (Art. 6(1)(a)/(f)). You can opt out at any time.
- To add you to our consortium pool happens only if you tick that box — based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). See our consortium pool page.
- To issue invoices and meet tax obligations is a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
AI matching
To match you to funding, the details you submit (your description, idea and public website content) are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which generates the matches and eligibility reasoning. This text is processed only to produce your result and is not used to train AI models. If you would prefer we run your match without the AI step, email us.
Analytics
To understand how the Service is used and to improve it, we count key actions — searches, registrations and purchases — using Google Analytics 4 via its server-side Measurement Protocol. Because this happens server-to-server, no analytics cookie is placed in your browser and your IP address is not shared with Google. We send only anonymous event data (for example, that a search happened and how many calls it matched), never the text you submitted.
Processors we share data with
We use a small number of trusted providers, each bound by a data-processing agreement (GDPR Art. 28) and appropriate safeguards for any transfer outside the EU (EU Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework):
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Mailgun (Sinch), EU region — sending transactional and results emails.
- Anthropic — AI matching (see above).
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymous, cookieless usage measurement (see above).
- DigitalOcean — hosting.
We never sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep your intake and contact data for as long as needed to provide the Service and to follow up on relevant funding, and then delete or anonymise it on request. Invoices and accounting records are retained for the period required by Portuguese tax law (10 years, Art. 123 CIVA).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@asfouri.media. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies to run the site and keep it secure — see our Cookie Policy.

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
